New Story Idea...

Since I tend to have several story ideas in my head at once, I thought I would share this latest one by posting my quick "teaser" blurb about it. I hope you enjoy it and want to read the whole story (whenever I actually complete it, of course).

Enjoy!

Dual Legacy

A Crown. A Curse. A Choice.

The kingdom of Cantatia boasts a prosperous population, a thriving economy, and a peaceful coexistence with its neighbors. For all intents and purposes, it is a wonder to behold with its beautiful countryside and breathtaking cities, but its prosperity has come at a price – a price paid in blood. It is not a price the people have had to pay, nor are they aware of its existence. It is a price that was levied upon the first king in the form of a curse to plague countless generations. It is a secret the royal household has fought hard to conceal for generations. It is a burden they have shouldered silently, one they have died for, and one they are resigned to never evading.

There is hope, however, as is the case with all curses. That hope lies in love and a little bit of magic. Every generation identical twin boys are born to the king. Every generation the eldest takes the throne. And every generation, a young woman pre-selected based on the conditions of the curse, is brought forward to choose between the two brothers. The young woman does not go blindly into the choice, but is granted the magical ability to see the men as they see themselves rather than their outward appearance that the world sees. She is to choose the brother who is her true love. Whoever she chooses will be king, no matter which one already sits on the throne. If she chooses correctly, the curse will be broken and the price of a prosperous kingdom will finally be paid. If she chooses incorrectly, the brother not chosen, her true love denied, will die. The brother she chose will love her, but they will both live forever after with the knowledge that their union was a mistake.

There is no escape for the three inextricably tied to this fate of love, loss, and fate. The only question is if they are strong enough to see it through to break the curse that has haunted them for generations.
